On Wednesday 29th June, we celebrated as a school the Solemnity Feast of St Peter and Paul - Peter the first leader of the Church; the person who denied Christ three times and then made to be the Head of the Church. We especially pray for the present incumbent Pope Francis and his ministry. St Paul the greatest spreader of the Word of God since his transformation after he was a persecutor of Christians
We also welcomed Fr Damian Wade, our latest new ordained priest, who was a former teacher at De La Salle, Basildon. It was his first School Mass since his ordination. It was wonderful to welcome him back, hopefully it won’t be too long before we see him here again.
We wish him well in his first posting to Chelmsford parish along with Fr Martin Hardy, our present Dean and friend of De La Salle, who comes in to celebrate Mass with us who will be leaving Grays Parish to become Fr Damian’s boss as the parish priest of the Chelmsford Parishes.
From all of us , here at De La Salle, we say, ‘Ad Multos Annos’ to you both.
